It works, is so easy! We make L. reuteri gut health yogurt. we use good pasture fed milk, inulin, and saved spoonful of last batch--way better than any store bought. Rich, thick, plain, full fat, and no weird additives. this yogurt maker is great--worth the money.

As a practicing nurse of 44 years, I am still awe struck by the human body and its ability to heal, or recover from a viral attack. Understanding that our gut bacteria play a distinct role in keeping our immune system healthy and strong, I have been a believer in consuming diverse fermented foods. What I know now is that the l. Reuteri bacteria is a real powerhouse! It is a little temperamental to culture. The organism needs a full 36 hours at a consistent temperature of 100° Fahrenheit. The process is made incredibly easy by utilizing the Ultimate Health yogurt maker. We ferment grass-fed organic 1/2 & 1/2 that produces very creamy, mild fermented dairy that has tasted delicious every single batch we have made. As with adding any new fermented food to one's diet, It is important to start slow. By slow, I mean ingest only 1 teaspoon/tablespoon a day to introduce these new actors to your gut. (PSA- Belly rumbling, intestinal grumbling, and white hot flatulence is to be expected the first couple days) I know, Right? Best to begin on a weekend that you will be home to allow the l. Reuteri to set uo shop in your gut. All kidding aside, me and mine feel great, sleep deeper, enjoy clearer skin, and have lost weight by making this small investment in our health. Note: Prior to making the first batch I ran the unit for a few hours and checked the temperature with digital and infrared thermometers, both read 102° when the setting programed in was 100°. I now set the device for 98° and this works perfectly EVERY time. Thank you Ultimate Health for a phenomenal product.

I use this to make oat milk yogurt since I can no longer consume dairy and non-dairy yogurt prices are astronomical. You can make time/temp adjustments for yogurt consistency that you prefer. Four stars instead of 5 because programming is easy, but because of the low temp it's hard to tell that the unit has started (not warm to the touch). For example, if set to 12 hours, the readout says 12 for an hour; not enough time has lapsed for the processing to be visible and it can leave you wondering if it's actually doing anything. The final non-dairy yogurt is amazing!

Made a high-protein soy milk yogurt with Garden of Life Raw Probiotics 100 billion. 4 cups of West Soy - Soy Milk, 1 tsp of sugar, 1/4 tsp agar agar 1 capsule of Garden of Life Raw Probiotics 100 billion I fermented it at 100F for 10 hours. It turned out beautifully as a thick yogurt DRINK/SMOOTHIE, which was the consistency I wanted. After cooling, I added 1 TBS of Madagascar vanilla, 1 tsp of Madagascar vanilla beans, 1 tsp of stevia, and several drops of monk fruit. This is sour, due to the high concentrations of probiotics. Second Recipe 4 cups of homemade almond milk 1/2 tsp agar agar 1 tbs of maple syrup 1 tbs of arrowroot 1 pkt of yogurt starter I fermented it at 105F for 12 hours. I loved how it turned out as well. Less sour and more creamy. I tested the temperature throughout the process, and while there were some temperature swings of 1-2 degrees, overall, this machine maintains the proper temperature consistently. Updated Dec 1: I used 3 TBS of recipe 2 as my yogurt starter 4 cups of West Soy Plain Soy Milk 1/2 tsp agar-agar 1.5 TBS tapioca starch 1 tsp sugar Yogurt starter: 3 TBS of recipe 2 I fermented this for 10 hours at 108F. This version has a lovely flavor and texture. The texture is like pudding with a very mild taste - when plain. I calculated that each 8-oz serving has approximately 125 calories and 9 grams of protein. After the yogurt had sat in the fridge overnight, I whisked in French vanilla stevia and vanilla bean paste for flavoring.

This yogurt maker works just fine and makes very good yogurt, however; you’re on your own when it comes to a recipe, and the thermostat is not gauged correctly, so that needs adjustment as well. After much online research and numerous trial and error batches, I finally made perfect yogurt. The milk, even pasteurized milk, must be heated to 180 degrees and kept there for 30 minutes…otherwise the yogurt will be thin, less than tart, and all the good probiotics won’t be activated. I process mine for 12 hours at 112 degrees….and here, you’re on your own. I would advise setting the thermostat around 108-110, and then check the temp of the water during the processing period. If it’s not where you want it to be, adjust thermostat on your unit accordingly. This unit does a great job, once you figure it out. I use the two - one quart containers instead of the multiple small ones.

This is easy to use and the instructions I found clear. The bottles were smaller than I expected but I empty them into a strainer to make Greek yogurt so it makes no difference. The yogurt is creamy and tasty

I’m so pleased with this purchase. Makes my yogurt experience EASY to do. Works perfectly & super easy to clean. Best appliance i’ve bought in years. Great price. Only thing i regret is that i should have bought the unit with the large glass bowls instead. Makes more sense for my situation.
