I'm planning to try it with some cooked chicken to see if it helps to shred it, I think it might. If so, I'd give it a 10 rating. I also like that it's really sturdy and has not melted when sitting on the edge of a hot pan.

I got one for us at the same time. My husband didn't understand what all the fuss and celebration were about - then he used it to mash potatoes and declared, "This is the BEST potato masher EVER!!!" My response? Wait until you use it for meat! We love it! WHY did we wait to long to get it? This is a great weight, does the job, and will last a long time! Very sturdy construction!

This worked great to break up ground beef for tacos! It works much better than the potato type mashers. I was pleased that it was so easy to use and that it is not sharp to the touch at all. It is a hard plastic. I got it in black because I did not know if it could be stained.
