I love this kit! It’s a great way to test your water quality, it’s easy to use and time to get results are fast! Making it easy to use (quick) and very functional. My kids and I love to test different waters and this was a great lesson for all of us. We haven’t use the Coliform Bacteria test yet but will soon! Overall happy with this product! Brings 100 test strips, comes with a plastic test tube you can use and a very useful pamphlet explaining the Parameters and more.

Giving a 3 star, as the problems I had with it are likely (1) more to do with my use case and (2) a problem with these strip based tests in general. BLUF: This product fails miserably at my use case...maybe it would be fine for yours. I love the concept, but cannot recommend this product if your use case is like mine - primarily looking for water hardness. Background: We were looking for an easy/cheap solution to periodically test the hardness of our well water and monitor the performance of our water softener. The other 16 chemicals it tests was a bonus for us. Based on all of the surrounding municipalities and past testing, we knew that our water hardness was between 18 GPG/308 PPM and 25 GPG/428 PPM (some of the hardest water in the country). As mentioned in the BLUF, the hardness parameter is just downright flawed. Over the course of about 1.25 hours, I performed more than 20 tests. Each time, rinsing out the test tube multiple times, varying the amount of time the strip was submersed in the test tube of water (<1 second to 5 seconds, many at the instructed 2 seconds), holding the strips horizontal, vertical or upside down during the 60-second waiting period, testing before and after the water softener, etc. Picture: Image shows 7 outdoor (“O”) test strips, 7 indoor (“I”) strips tested after the water softener, and one unused strip in the middle for reference. Several problems experienced: - hardness parameter was extremely inconsistent (see picture) - some parameters used shades of color that were nearly indistinguishable from one another (ex. Sulfate) - bleeding from one parameter to the other made “easy to read” parameters hard to read, and hard to read parameters impossible to read (see picture) My solution: I purchased and just used the Hach 5-B test kit and it worked flawlessly when measuring the hardness of my water. My water hardness is 23 GPG/393 PPM before the water softener, and 0 after. Final thought: I cannot overemphasize how poorly the Varify product is compared to the Hach product when trying to determine water hardness. If you care to know the hardness of your water, get another product instead of or in addition to this one. If distinguishing between nuanced shades of a color is difficult for you, get another product. If those things do not concern you, buy this product. You will likely love it and not find a better strip based product on the market.

I bought this to test my well water. The strips are very easy to use with a handy chart that describes the color outcome. Came with two bacteria test tubes. Strips are almost immediate, for the bacteria, you have to wait but it’s also very easy to use and interpret

the coliform test is straightforward and easy to use. If the water stays yellow and the blue specs don't dissolve, your water is good, If the blue specs dissolve, you're in trouble. Test strips have a 60 second reading time limit so one has to be quick to be able to read all of them before the time is up. But there are a lot of them in the paquet. So I recommend cutting the strips to different lengths and only reading the two or three end pads at a time.

This is timepass product. Many colours of the test strip goes beyond the given chart of standard colours and analyst become clueless what to interpret in such situations.

Test strips are ok, have tested many different waters and have gotten mostly the same readings so not sure exactly how accurate these are but the bacteria test identified an issue with our local spring while our well water looks free of bacteria so that was helpful.
