Unlike my other bamboo boards, these are denser, and the knife glides off the surface, as it should. I cook every day and love the finger-recessed design of these, making handling them more manageable. I bought the expanded set and found all of the boards very useful. I also purchased the finishing oil from them and treated the boards. Never put wood in your dishwasher... I hand wash and wipe dry them, then finish air drying them horizontally (against the grain) so the ends will never split. Thank you, Royal Craft, for a decent product. Their veggie scrubber is top quality as well!

This was i nice set of three cutting boards. The small one is great for putting in a drawer and pulling it out to cut up fruit. The other two fit nicely in cupboards and are great for cut meats or vegetables. The Grove is deep enough to catch juices and the bamboo holds up good to use. Definitely don't put these in the dishwasher as they will warp or crack. I would buy these again if I need more or to replace them.

If you are thinking about purchasing this product I will give you some helpful advice on how to evaluate previous reviews to determine if this is the right cutting board (set) for you. Sort them by rating high to low. Once you have done this you will be looking at a list of how people take care of their kitchen items from "very careful" to "it should just work without maintenance". If you own knives you probably understand that they aren't just always going to be sharp. Cutting on certain surfaces will dull them. Using a knife block can dull them. They require sharpening and care. Sure some will last longer and keep their edge better due to their quality, but you need to care about what you own and put in some effort at keeping your items in good shape so they will do what you purchased them for. The reason I say all of this is because I purchased these expecting all sorts of problems. I expected splinters and separation of the bamboo pieces. Know what I found? A decent quality cutting board that requires a certain level of care to keep in good shape. While I think it is possible that a few bad ones left the factory, the number of problems people are having with these lead me to believe that they aren't being oiled and/or they are being submerged and allowed to absorb water. I'm not going to say this is the finest cutting board on the market, but I do think that a lot of the hate is misplaced. I have now been using these for a couple of weeks and they have performed flawlessly. I really think that this is a solid 4 star set. Is it easy to clean? Well it is wood so no it isn't as easy to clean as glass. Is it sturdy? Again, it is made up of pieces of bamboo so it probably isn't as sturdy as a solid board would be. Craftsmanship? I don't think this was made by a craftsman who cares what he is shipping out the door. I haven't experienced splintering so far and it feels well made but it is a mass produced product so I don't think it earns 5 stars there either. Ultimately this is a good set that presents an incredible value if you are in the market for bamboo boards. I cook for my family at home and I plan on taking care of these so they will serve me well. It comes with care instructions and everyone who purchases these would be well served by reading them. I doubt they will win any awards or be used in any top kitchens around the world, but they are a good set and a great value.

Love these! Very easy to clean and the range of sizes makes it very convenient! No longer need to grab a big bulky board to chop some garlic when we can use the small one provided in this set. The grooves along the end catch small strays from falling into your counter as well which is pretty cool! Very solid build and awesome quality!

I have used so many cutting boards in my life time and try and stay away from plastic or glass styles as they dull the blade or can hold bacteria. This is my favorite wood cutting board and I use it almost daily as we cook at home 99% of the time. It is large enough for most any food prep one might do in a home kitchen and so far there is no signs of cracking. I have bought cutting boards that cracked in the package. I recommend this board to anyone looking to not spend a ton of money but still wants quality

Excellent high quality product

I opened this up and began to hand wash and tiny bits of wood were shedding everywhere. Very low quality product. I want my money back. What kind of cutting board sheds wood pieces??
