Great price, surprisingly good product. I always find it odd to see an item get 20 5-stars and then 20 1-stars. Possibly some got a an item that came off the production line faulty OR perhaps they travel with it and packed it shabbily, let their 2 year old use it as a Frisbee, etc. I guess there is truth in "YMMV" I think this item looks very sturdy. I plan on keeping it in one place. I have no kids and live alone. Sooo Hopefully, it will still be working fine in several years. Disclaimer is that I just received it today (one of the nice things about Prime membership is getting that IUPS delivery on SUNDAY. Nice surprise. My laptop is OLD - old meaning probably 7 or 8 years old and has dated technology. Dual chips and at this point in it's life, it runs pretty HOT. I am retired, have insomnia and often doze off at 4 or 5AM with computer running, so its on pretty much 24/7 I am amazed it is still running and also know it contains a lot of info that is either very difficult to back-up/store, or just too much of a hassle to spend that much time doing so (and I'm a bit naïve about doing that. So, I plan on buying a new one in a month or so and just want to do the best I can to keep guy running until then. Heat is a big enemy of computers, especially when they start getting as hot as mine has been (prompting me to get the cooling pad, but really, it's a goo idea to use this from day one). It will greatly increase the life and performance of your computer and it's components. This cooler is QUIET, even more so than I expected from many reviews. The blue light? Some found it annoying, but it wasn't at all to me and I actually think its really a nice feature that lets you know it is running, since it runs so quiet (and my hearing not the best). Well, if it runs so quiet, it can't be putting out much air, right? Nope - nice steady stream of air - not hurricane force, but quite sufficient. I opened the box, put it under my laptop on my lap and decided to read up on the 13 pages of questions people asked about it. Just to see how it well it would work. Didn't do any gaming, but did have a number of other programs open and viewing like facebook, some web surfing, reading mail, etc. After several hours where it would normally been almost too hot to touch, it was surprisingly COOL to the touch. Good deal! Very happy with those results and I'm thinking about getting another unit for my PS3 and/or as a back up. A couple of tips: some complained the short power cord seemed to come apart fairly easily. Most cables tend to be that way, especially those on equipment that is moved around much at all. What I do with virtually every power cable phone/USB, etc, is to take a length of electrical tape and wrap both connector ends a number of times at a length of a an inch or so centered right at where the cable meets the connector. A lot of cables have "stress relief" built into them, but I've had these fail as well. The tape reinforces it and helps prevent frequent sharp bending and eventual failure. I am also going to power the cooling pad with an external USB 2.1A charger so as not to draw down the battery or increase any additional heat. Probably an overkill on my part, but I have a 7 port AC powered USB charger that I use for phones and other devices. The pad IS slick and while the "feet" angle it a bit (which makes for better air flow), it also causes my laptop to tend to slide off. I plan on putting several rubber "bumpers" on the bottom of the laptop to keep it stable. Short story long, I am very pleased with the device especially with the cost and that it truly does keep my computer running cool! Would certainly recommend to others, I think you'll be well pleased. Wish I had bought this years ago.

Definitely worth the money. A couple of improvements would make this perfect. I lost a laptop hard drive due to excessive heat a while back. I got a good steel elevated laptop stand after that. It works fine in my home office, but the laptop still gets hot and the exhaust throws a lot of heat. It's also not something I'm going to carry around with me. At work or elsewhere in the house, the laptop gets hot enough to actually be painful to the touch after a little time on a flat surface. This cooling pad is an excellent solution. I have mine plugged into a USB A port on the old laptop, but I suppose you could power it directly if you had a USB A to wall plug adapter. I like my set up because it's more easily portable this way and for a 30 minute to 1 hour meeting where I don't have a power cord in my laptop, it's been fine. I haven't done any testing to see how much it drains the battery, but the fans aren't going draw a lot of power. Pretty sure it would easily last 2 - 3 hours in this mode before the battery got low enough for concern. Pros: 1. Thin enough to fit in my laptop bag with my laptop. I have a small fabric case, not a suitcase. 2. Moves a lot of air. After a 9 - 10 hour day, the laptop is cool to the touch and even the laptop fan exhaust is barely warmer than room temperature. 3. Very lightweight. 4. Very quiet. 5. Even w/o elevating the pad with the feet, it circulates plenty of air 6. Inexpensive. @ $20 to save your laptop from meltdown. I'd say 100% worth it. Cons: 1. Has feet in the rear to raise/angle the laptop BUT the included stick-on rubber pads are not great at preventing the laptop from sliding when elevated. Suggested improvements: 1. Add a raised edge at the bottom or include more or thicker rubber pads to do a better job of preventing slips when elevated. I suspect they could also coat the mesh base with anti-slip material. 2. Add fan speed control. There is only 1 speed. It is quiet and definitely does the job, but it would be nice to have an option here. 3. USB C. there are 2 USB connectors in the back. 1 for power and I guess 1 for a peripheral. Both are USB A. If you have newer equipment you'll need an adapter. This really isn't a big deal as adapters and cords are cheap, but it can be kind of annoying. 4. Add a fan cage or additional structural supports around the fans. I shouldn't do this, but I frequently grab the cooling pad with the laptop on top to carry it into a different meeting room or room in the house. There are no supports around the fan cutouts and it is easy to compress the pad and the fans scrape on the case. You have to remember to grab the pad differently. I don't think the slight bit of extra weight would be a problem. Recommendation: If you're worried about laptop heat, get this. Great value, good purchase, would buy again.

I use a high performance laptop for work and it puts out enough heat to warm a small conference room, if left flat on a desk/table it will go into thermal overload. I needed something practical that I could fit in my laptop bag and wouldn’t double the weight of it (and quiet enough it wouldn’t be a nuisance in meetings). I’ve been using it all day, everyday, for about 3 months now and it works great! Small enough you’d hardly know it’s there, keeps my workhorse of a laptop cool enough it doesn’t feel like the person sitting across from you is in front of a space heater and not any louder than the built in fans of the laptop. Simple things like having a physical on/off switch and the USB pass through are nice to have as well This was exactly what I needed, hoping it stays running this well for at least a couple years.

Play Video Es una base muy buena, mi laptop tiene un problema en sus ventiladores y hace que suene mucho y que se caliente horrible, compré la base sin mucha esperanza ya que la laptop no tiene orificios debajo para que pase el aire, pero mi sorpresa fue que disipa el calor de manera perfecta, mi único pero es que el cable con el que se conecta a pesar de sentirse de buena calidad no se siente de plástico muy duro pero eso ya son detalles míos, en general es un producto maravilloso (la caja llego un poco maltratada pero todo lo de adentro llego en perfectas condiciones)

This is an incredible bit of kit for anyone who at times maybe putting there laptop under a bit of stress at times like video or especially gaming. Well made with a metal perforated grill and three decent sized fans which are incredibly quiet. The fans are lit with a soft blue glow and there are two std. usb sockets, one being a thru port so you’re not really loosing one of your ports to the cooler. It’s slim on the table as well in height making it quite unobtrusive while being used. Fully powered by usb from the laptop also makes it highly portable. This is a must buy for anyone who participates in online gaming or heavy downloading usage. Can’t fault it especially at the price. It looks great and performs even better will help extend the life of your graphic card and processor. Winner winner chicken dinner. 😊
