I purchased this for two reasons- Im not a fan of attaching a magnet to such an expensive device and using a phone holder over the vent was preventing airflow. So I use this on my windshield. I was also looking for something I could easily use for gps navigation while driving. This has been a really good purchase! Its easy to use and functional- so its not distracting while Im driving. It hasnt fallen off since I installed it about a month ago. It fits my iphone 13 mini securely and seems sturdy. Im definitely impressed with this thing and would recommend to anyone looking for similar features that I was.

Its easy to see why this a best seller. The dashboard pad makes the suction cup work perfectly. The trigger button when you put your phone in works, the release is great. The flexibility of where you can put it is far superior to any other holders i have tried. I decided to go with this over a charging or magnetic holder, and glad i did. The cable charges my phone much better and doesn't get the phone hot. I hang the cable over the holder arm so its right there and takes 2 seconds to plug in. Also good price for what you get.

I am happy with this purchase. My son had ordered another brand that squeaked so much he threw it away. This one is quiet and securely holds my phone, easy to adjust. It does block the vent to some extent and if you have your heater on your phone will be hot too. I preferred this option to a dash mount that could cause damage. I've recommended this phone mount.

The mount looks solid. Easy to install. It is stable and very easy to rotate. It came off once, but other than that, very solid.

Had for a few months and works great. Stays in place, holds phone and is adjustable.

I first bought one of these ~7 years ago. After a year, the tiny plastic part that holds the triggering mechanism in place broke. I contacted iOttie and asked them to send me the part. They told me to send them a pic. I did. ~3 days later a brand spanking new unit showed up in my mailbox. Not a part--an entire unit. And it appeared to have had a couple of improvements over that year. Then after a few years, the same part broke. So I bought a new unit which is this one that I'm reviewing. The new unit has had a couple more improvements. Seems like minor things and I would not have even noticed had I not had 2 previous models. It also now comes with a sticky disc for mounting. I highly recommend iOttie.

It sticks SUPER hard on glass. Wait for the glass to get hot at midday before moving it. The suction pad is gel adhesive like alien tape. You should use a residue free cleaner like alcohol to prevent poor sticking. If the pad gets dirty just rinse to reactivate the adhesive. I put it in the wrong spot, then got it backwards and it still holds strong. I can use my phone as a dash cam and no more awkward angles when driving if I need to upgrade navigation etc. Easy to open and close

We have two of these. The first we bought at a national chain, the second here at Amazon. If you have not used a car mount, and you are used to fumbling with your phone at stops, stop signs, when using the GPS, and so on, this will be a wonderful addition to your safe driving. However, since it is vent-mounted, it does fall off. It won't fall at every pothole or speed bump, but it could eventually fall. So be prepared!

I did not need the vent part, so took that off and then securely mounted this to an existing 17mm ball mount that was previously hard glued to the dash. This makes for a very secure mount and the ability to rotate and angle as required
